Birds of a Feather Summary
Warning: This section contains major spoilers for the entire novel.
Tyler Jennings, a former Marine Gunnery Sergeant, serves on the Secret Service detail for President Preston. He is also a core operative in the Ravens, a secret vigilante brotherhood.
He is still emotionally shattered by the death of his wife Delphine when Larissa DiCicco breaches his private Washington, D.C., penthouse.
Larissa is the daughter of Ciro DiCicco, a ruthless crime syndicate leader. She has spent eight years gathering intelligence on the Ravens. She offers Tyler a deal: she will provide information to dismantle her father’s network in exchange for safety for herself and her brother, Iggy.
Tyler believes Larissa is a trap. He detains her in a secure suite for intensive interrogation. Despite the hostility, a fierce attraction builds between them. The Ravens, led by Tobias King, support Tyler remotely as they verify Larissa’s intelligence.
Larissa’s information leads to coordinated strikes against Ciro’s operations. National news breaks about pharmaceutical corruption and government arrests, orchestrated by FBI Director Donovan Beekman, another Raven. The stakes rise when Antony, Larissa’s former fiancĆ© and a syndicate enforcer, infiltrates the White House, confirming that corrupt insiders are aiding the mob.
During a tactical field mission, Tyler and Larissa yield to their passion in an isolated tenting site. The intimacy shatters Tyler’s emotional walls, while Larissa questions whether she is simply a tactical asset to him.
A massive raid on Ciro’s mansion goes wrong. Communication fails, and syndicate forces counter-attack. Tyler receives word that Peter, a young operative he mentored, has been shot and critically wounded. Convinced that Larissa betrayed them, Tyler tracks her to a snow-covered forest near a clinic.
He confronts her with a gun, consumed by rage. Heartbroken that the man she loves believes her capable of treachery, Larissa drops her weapon and demands he execute her. Before he can act, operative Russell radios the truth: Peter is alive, and a bottle of Chanel perfume found at the scene proves Larissa acted as a decoy to protect the team.

Tyler watches Larissa walk away into the trees, broken by his lack of faith. She flees to Barga, Italy, to the protection of her aunt, Tula DiGiovanni, the formidable female boss of the DiGiovanni family. There, Larissa discovers she is pregnant with Tyler’s twins.
Driven by remorse, Tyler breaks protocol and steps away from his Secret Service detail. He is temporarily cast out of the Ravenhood by his brothers. He travels to Italy to face Tula and seek Larissa’s forgiveness. Tula grants him a strict six-week visitation period with his newborn son, Alexander, and daughter, Macey.
In Barga, Tyler undergoes an emotional rebirth. His mother Regina urges him to release his grief for Delphine. Through conversations with his Raven brothers and his own resolve, he lets go of his rigid military detachment. He dedicates himself to proving his devotion to Larissa and their children.
Larissa initially guards her heart. Tyler’s steady presence, vulnerability, and genuine care for the twins gradually dissolve her defenses. On New Year’s Eve, after a night of honest confessions, Tyler fully surrenders his heart to Larissa, saying “Mi arrendo a te.” They unite as a couple.
By Spring 2023, two years later, Larissa reigns as Donna alongside Tula, ruling the DiGiovanni empire.
Tyler serves as her partner and co-parent. Larissa receives the Raven wings tattooed on her back, cementing her place in the brotherhood. They plan an Italian wedding and split their time between Europe and their apple farm in Triple Falls.
The story closes with a chilling transmission from Antony, signaling that unresolved syndicate debts will require the Ravenhood to fight once more.
