Alice Dawson and Leo Curtis move into 6 The Circle. Leo bought the house at a reduced price because it stood empty for over a year.

Alice hosts a housewarming drinks evening. A tall man arrives, and she assumes he is Tim Conway, so she gives him a tour of the house.

She later meets the real Tim and realizes a stranger entered her home. The man later identifies himself as Thomas Grainger, a private investigator.

Thomas tells Alice that Nina Maxwell was tied to a chair and strangled in the bedroom a year earlier. Nina’s husband Oliver was arrested and later committed suicide.

Leo knew about the murder before buying the house. He lied to the estate agent and to Alice about it.

Alice begins her own investigation. She befriends Eve, Tamsin, Lorna, and Edward.

She learns Nina had an affair, which gave Oliver a motive. Thomas insists Oliver was innocent and the real killer is still close.

Alice suspects Eve’s husband Will and Tamsin’s husband Connor. She also discovers Leo’s old passport under the name Leo Carter.

Thomas reveals that Leo served two years in prison for fraud. Alice ends the relationship.

Strange incidents occur at night. Alice finds synthetic blond hair planted in her kitchen and wardrobe.

She blames Leo for gaslighting her. She later links Nina’s death to the murders of Marion Cartaux and Justine Bartley.
