Crowned by Roses Summary: Fae War & Fated Mates
TL;DR: A Queen Rises from the Ashes
After Sira destroys Castletree and strips the Enchanted Vale of magic, Rosalina and her five mates retreat to Orca Cove.
Grief keeps Rosalina immobilized until a simple realization — as long as things grow, there is hope — pushes her to reopen the rosebush portal.
The group journeys to the cloud realm of Airaleth, forges divine weapons, and rallies the seven realms for a final war against Sira.
The central ideas are healing after trauma, forgiveness over vengeance, and the strength of a bonded family.

Spoilers ahead.
In 1997, Queen Aurelia lives in Orca Cove as a human named Anya O’Connell with her husband George. She discovers that her baby daughter Rosalina has five mate bonds tied to the Enchanted Vale.
Aurelia travels to Castletree and finds the four young high princes traumatized and neglecting their realms after the War of Thorns.
Believing them unworthy of her daughter, Aurelia curses the princes to become beasts every night. Their life force is tied to four enchanted roses that will slowly wilt. Sira corners Aurelia and threatens baby Rosalina over an unfulfilled bargain.
To protect her daughter, Aurelia leaves Rosalina with George and locks the rosebush portal for twenty years. She returns to the Vale, where Sira traps her in a crystal cage beneath Castletree. Sira’s son Caspian holds Castletree together with his own briars.
Decades later, after Sira’s forces destroy Castletree and drain all magic, Rosalina hides in Orca Cove with her mother Anya, her sister Wrenley, and her five mates.
The group includes Keldarion of Winter, Ezryn of Spring, Daytonales of Summer, Farron of Autumn, and Caspian of the Below. Rosalina is paralyzed by depression and grief over her father George’s death and her failure to save Castletree.
Caspian gently encourages her, while Dayton bakes and Farron studies human culture. After a conversation with Caspian by a lake and another with her mother under a town willow tree, Rosalina regains her sense of self.
She calls a family meeting and declares that they must return to the Vale.
Keldarion reveals he has spent months meditating before the frozen rosebush portal in the woods. Rosalina and the princes combine their lingering inner magic to unfreeze and open the rosebush path. They crawl through and emerge into a scorched, ash-choked wasteland.
Castletree is rubble, and Sira has built a war camp on its ruins.
The group travels to Keep Hammergarden in Spring and reunites with allies including Marigold, Tilla, Astrid, and Justus. Keldarion states that they must reach the Celestial Landing in northern Winter and open a gateway to Airaleth, the Above.
At the Celestial Landing, Rosalina and the princes combine their realm tokens to activate the ancient gateway.
They ascend into the clouds and arrive at the ruined floating islands of Airaleth, which Sira tore apart eons ago. There they awaken Jack, a winged fae survivor who has been encased inside a glowing tree for thousands of years.
Ezryn discovers the ancient Forge of Onaulion. Rosalina, guided by Jack and accompanied by Farron, climbs levitating rock paths to the restored Gardens of Ithilias, also called Roseheart. In the sacred soil, she replants the four seasonal roses and adds two new ones: a purple rose for Caspian and a golden rose for herself.
Rosalina waters the roses with her tears, and they bloom into magical seeds. On a nearby floating observatory, Caspian embraces his power over shadows and thorns. He declares that the magic belongs to him rather than to his abusive parents.
Back at the Forge of Onaulion, Ezryn channels the seven realm flames to re-ignite the forge. He crafts mythkarite armor, specialized realm tokens, and divine weapons for everyone, including the Bow of Radiance for Rosalina. That night, the six lovers share an intimate union that solidifies their bond.
The next morning, the high princes split up to rally their home armies. Wrenley and Caspian travel to mobilize the Queen’s Army and the rebels of Cryptgarden. Sira begins a ritual to permanently bind her life force to the roots of Castletree.

Keldarion persuades Faustrius and the underfae Elderblood to join the fight.
The free forces of all seven realms assemble at the ruins of Castletree for a multi-front battle against Sira’s army of gargoyles, harpies, goblins, and shadows. Rosalina flies into the sky in rose-gold mythkarite armor with golden wings.
Caspian and Wrenley use purple and luminescent briars to pin down the colossal tree-entity Sira has merged with. Rosalina uses her briars to break the bell jar containing the stolen rose and retrieves it. She refuses to use the rose to mind-control her enemies and instead shatters it.
The dark thralldom snaps instantly and frees all of Sira’s creations. Sira collapses and dies in Caspian’s arms after a final, quiet moment of reconciliation. Rosalina, her mother Anya, Wrenley, and the five princes gather at the charred entrance hall of Castletree.
They plant the celestial seeds from the Gardens of Ithilias into the fresh soil and channel their combined magic. A magnificent new Castletree erupts from the earth with wings for all seven realms: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Below, Above, and the Queen’s Realm.
From the roots, Rosalina’s human father, George O’Connell, is magically brought back to life because his life force had been bound to Castletree.
Rosalina extends a healing magic tether across the land. The tether transforms goblins and underfae into beautiful, floral new beings. Two weeks later, a grand celebration is held at Castletree.
Queen Aurelia formally abdicates and presents her daughter to the world. Dressed in a blush-pink gown, Rosalina is crowned Queen of the Enchanted Vale on her balcony.
All the fae, animals, and creatures across the seven realms bow before her alongside her five devoted prince mates.
