Love Arranged Summary: A Fake Fiancée Small-Town Romance
Introduction
A forced buyout notice arrives at a family flower shop on Lavender Lane, and the clock starts ticking.
Liliana “Lily” Muñoz has one season to stop the city council from tearing down the historic street her mother’s shop has anchored for years.
Across town, Lorenzo Vittori is running for mayor and losing badly, painted by focus groups as a cold outsider with no roots in Lake Wisteria.
Love Arranged by Lauren Asher is the third book in the Lakefront Billionaires series.
It pairs a florist fighting for her family’s legacy with a former casino heir fighting for a town he barely knows, and it puts a single arrangement in front of them: a fake engagement that benefits both sides.
What neither accounts for is the anonymous dating app history they already share.
TL;DR: The Short Version
Love Arranged is a dual-POV contemporary romance built on a fake engagement between two people who have already hurt each other once.
- The deal: Lily pretends to be Lorenzo’s fiancée so he looks human to voters; he uses his campaign to fight the Lavender Lane demolition.
- The complication: They matched anonymously on the dating app Eros as “Ana” and “Laurence,” met in person, and he ghosted her.
- The arc: Staged dates and quiet gestures turn into real attachment, then a public proposal, then a collapse when Lorenzo admits he would leave town if he lost.
- The resolution: Therapy, a rebuilt fountain, old chat logs, an election win, and an extended epilogue with four children.
- Core themes: grief and healing, vulnerability versus self-protection, small-business preservation, and family loyalty.

Love Arranged Summary: What Happens in the Book
Spoiler warning: The following section covers the full plot, including the ending.
The novel opens with Lily Muñoz receiving a condemnation notice from the Lake Wisteria city council. The notice orders a forced buyout of Rose & Thorn, the historic floral shop she runs with her mother Rosa, and it comes with a hush-money check and an NDA. Lily refuses to sign and starts looking for a way to fight back.
Meanwhile, Lorenzo Vittori is trailing incumbent-aligned candidate Trevor Ludlow by ten points.
His campaign manager Willow tells him that voters see him as an untrustworthy outsider, and she suggests a local partner would fix the image problem. Lorenzo had originally joined the dating app Eros for exactly that purpose.
Months earlier, Lily and Lorenzo had connected anonymously on Eros under the handles “Ana” and “Laurence.” They met in person at a Halloween party at Last Call, kissed, and then Lorenzo disappeared without explanation. When Lily learns from Willow that Lorenzo had been using the app to recruit a fake fiancée, she confronts him while drunk.
The confrontation turns into a negotiation. Lily offers to play his fiancée if he uses his platform to stop the Lavender Lane redevelopment, and Lorenzo agrees. In Lauren Asher’s novel, the two call it “Operation Fake Fiancée” and begin staging their relationship for the town.
Their hard launch happens outside Last Call during a fire alarm evacuation, complete with a kiss the whole street sees. From there come strawberry picking, cooking classes, drive-in movies, and community events, all designed to make the pairing believable.
Lorenzo’s private gestures go further than the script requires. He fixes Lily’s broken car without telling her, adopts a shelter pit bull named Daisy because she loved the dog, buys her a basket of ruffled socks, and commissions a pink diamond engagement ring.
A weekend couples’ trip to Chicago with Lily’s sister Dahlia and Julian Lopez forces Lily and Lorenzo to share a hotel room and a bed. Lorenzo keeps his distance and instead opens up about his OCD and his past. At a casino night fundraiser for his charity, Healing Hearts, he proposes publicly with the pink diamond ring.
The proposal unsettles Lily rather than delighting her. She realizes she has fallen in love with him and can no longer treat the engagement as a performance.

Election season peaks at a mayoral debate against Trevor Ludlow at Wisteria High School. Lorenzo exposes the Ludlow family’s secret architectural plans to demolish Lavender Lane, but Trevor counters with his family’s long legacy, and the audience splits. Shaken, Lorenzo tells Lily that if he loses, he will leave Lake Wisteria for good.
His reason is a decade-old wound: the Ludlows were responsible for the hit-and-run that killed his parents. Lily is devastated that he would abandon the town and her instead of fighting, and she ends their personal relationship, insisting they return to a strictly business arrangement until election day.
Both characters suffer through the separation. Lorenzo begins therapy with Dr. Martin to work through his grief, his OCD, and his fear of intimacy, and he commits to staying in Lake Wisteria whatever the result.
He also rebuilds the broken water fountain in Lily’s backyard as a surprise. Lily finds his diary-like confessions buried in their old Eros chat logs, where he wrote about loving her. They reconcile honestly and become genuinely engaged.
On Election Day, Lorenzo defeats Trevor Ludlow in a record turnout. Trevor leaves a voicemail congratulating him and admitting his family’s wrongdoing. Lorenzo and Lily visit the graves of both sets of parents to share the news.
Two years later, The Pressed Petal — Lily’s expanded floral art gallery — is thriving. On their honeymoon in Amsterdam, Lily hands Lorenzo a black-and-white sonogram.
The extended epilogue jumps years ahead to their lakefront cottage, four children named Enzo, Aurelio, Lazaro, and Ana Lucia, their dog Daisy, and an annual family tomato-sauce day.
