In Broken Dove, Dani Francis continues the Silver Elite series in a world where the biological mutagen Theta-3 gave psychic abilities to one-third of the population.

Non-modified humans, called Primes, run the oppressive military dictatorship known as the Company. Modified humans, branded by black and red wrist tattoos, live as second-class citizens forced into brutal labor camps.

The novel opens with Wren Darlington fleeing Sanctum Point after a Mod attack on a Command hangar. She carries a hidden letter revealing her birth name is Stella Hess and her parents are the Tin Block Traitors. Her secret lover, Captain Cross Redden of Silver Block, is shackled and tortured by his younger brother Roe for helping her escape.

Wren and Prime lieutenant Xavier Ford are rescued by Uprising operatives and brought to Blue Dagger Base. There, Wren finds her supposedly dead classmate Kaine Sutler now operating as Grayson Blake, an Uprising pilot and legend. Xavier is immediately thrown into a cell as a security risk.

Wren appears before the Authority, the leadership council consisting of Adrienne Knox, Teriq, Fiona, Grayson, and Kallister Ash. She discloses four psychic gifts: telepathy, mind reading, projection, and incitement. Her veins do not glow silver when she uses her powers.

A letter from her late uncle Jim reveals her parents were the Tin Block Traitors responsible for the Sun Post bombing and the decimation of Valterra Ridge.

Kallister Ash secretly reveals he knows her identity in a white daggerstone cave that blocks Mod energy. Fearing execution or exile, Wren keeps her identity hidden.

Wren and Cross maintain a telepathic link despite their separation. She convinces Grayson to fly her to Sanctum Point for a reunion at Haven, a brothel front.

They share intimacy, but Cross asks her to run away with him to Tierra Fe or Heath’s End. She refuses to abandon the Uprising, and they part painfully.

Wren grows closer to Grayson, who acts as her grounder to soothe her volatile emotions. Cross warns that General Travis Redden is moving Modified prisoners from Ice Canyon to be executed. The Uprising launches a rescue mission, during which operative Neema dies crashing into a force field.

Wren saves the life of Declan with her gold-frequency incitement and extracts her childhood friend Tana Archer with Cross’s help.

The rescue succeeds, but Travis retaliates by publicly executing sixteen innocent Mod captives on a live broadcast. Tana, deeply traumatized, warns Wren that she cannot trust her.

The Uprising arranges a parley with Commander Vásquez of Tierra Fe, a nation that views Mods as demons. The mission fails. Wren is captured and sustains a broken leg, but she is healed by Valeria Vásquez, the commander’s secret Mod daughter who offers a fragile alliance.

Back at the Dagger, Wren and Grayson begin a physical relationship. Bramble Base is suddenly betrayed by pilot Evlynne, who protects her six-year-old son Fisher, secretly Travis’s biological child.

Fiona is mortally wounded and dies in Wren’s arms, begging her to protect Poppy.

Kallister Ash invokes Order Five, disbanding the council and seizing dictatorial control. He imprisons Adrienne Knox and sentences her to death.

Wren discovers Kallister has been using Hawkins Jost to brainwash Primes and children. On a mountain bluff, Hawkins forces Mako to jump to his death. Wren’s white wolf Prince mauls Hawkins, leaving him catatonic.

Adrienne commits suicide in her cell by drinking poisoned water in front of Wren. Wren is tranquilized and taken to Valterra Ridge to be executed.

Kallister pushes her off a cliff, but Cross arrives in a stolen helicopter and rescues her.

Their helicopter leaks fuel and crashes into the Western Sea. As the novel ends, Cross pulls Wren into his arms while they sink beneath the cold waves, leaving their survival unresolved.
