Spoiler Warning: This section reveals major plot points, including the ending.
Vasmora picks up immediately after the battle at the Great Chasm. Maevyth is dragged into Solassios as a prisoner of General Loyce and locked in an anti-magic cell.
Inside her body, the death goddess Morsana stirs. She reveals that Maevyth cannot be permanently harmed but that yielding control would mean losing her body entirely.
Zevander survives his fall into the abyss when his Corvugon, Raivox, catches him. He wakes at Eidolon under the care of his brother Branimir.
Zevander departs across the Australius Channel with the scholar Oswin Moorwood. His goal is to infiltrate Solassios and kill Loyce.
Zevander breaches Loyce’s stronghold and massacres her guards. He leaves Loyce mutilated in a pit of flesh-eating charnelyths and escapes with Maevyth.
Meanwhile, Kazhimyr was infected by Pestilios during a passage through the mortal lands. He begins hearing a hive-mind voice and travels to Gildspire.
There, he discovers King Jeret driven insane and Prince Dorjan trapped in an icy spider cocoon. In Costelwick, Dolion and Allura break into the Archives at Arcanaca Tower.
They study the journals of the renegade mage Cadavros and learn that Pestilios spreads as a collective consciousness. They also discover that Zevander’s torture in the Emberforge ritual was designed to forge him into a weapon.

Prince Dorjan dies, and his death shatters the Umbravale barrier. A wave of blight and spider-mutations surges across Aethyria.
Cadavros confronts King Sagaerin, swallows a berserker beast, steals the royal amulet, and becomes Pestilios’s physical avatar. Maevyth uses her divine blood, fire, and scorpion poison to purge the parasite from Kazhimyr.
The Bimillennial Moon alignment arrives, and Morsana attempts to claim Maevyth’s body permanently. Deimos intervenes, revealing that Maevyth is his true divine daughter.
She chooses to fight rather than surrender, absorbs Morsana’s essence, and ascends as Vasmora. Maevyth, Zevander, Lothare, Kazhimyr, Torryn, and their allies descend into tunnels beneath the House of Sages.
Maevyth reanimates the fossilized skeletons of the ancient Corvikae warriors, the Hollowyns, to battle the spider horde. Zevander confronts Cadavros and slays him, then uses his dragon-vessel blood to bind Pestilios back inside the royal amulet.
Ten years later, the barrier between realms remains open. Zevander serves as Lithoviver, reviving dead magical veins, and lives at Eidolon with Maevyth and their children.
