Woven by Gold Summary

Warning: Major spoilers ahead.

Rosalina has spent four months in Orca Cove since Keldarion banished her from the Enchanted Vale. She lives with her father George and dodges Lucas, her abusive former fiancé.

George discovers a hidden seam in the moonstone rose necklace that belonged to Rosalina’s late mother, Anya. When they reassemble the broken pieces, the locket responds to artifacts from the Vale and opens a mirror portal.

Rosalina steps through and reaches Ezryn. Seeing her in danger from Lucas, Ezryn, Dayton, and Farron cross into Orca Cove, and a brief fight leaves Lucas injured.

The princes bring Rosalina, George, and Lucas back to Castletree. Keldarion is enraged by her return, because he has realized she is his true mate and banished her believing his curse would doom her.

Caspian, the Prince of Thorns, arrives at Castletree soon after. He offers to drag Lucas down to the chasms of the Below so Rosalina never has to act against him herself.

Caspian also makes Farron an offer. Autumn is being consumed by unnatural frost spilling out of Keldarion’s uncontained magic, and Caspian proposes a thorn choker that will suppress Farron’s wolf during full moon shifts.

In exchange, Caspian demands that Rosalina and all four princes attend his birthday party in the Below. Farron accepts.

The group travels to the Autumn Realm and reaches Keep Oakheart. Farron’s mother, Princess Niamh, confronts him for abandoning his realm during the frost crisis.

Wearing Caspian’s collar, Farron uses his Autumn Blessing to thaw frozen villages and rescue trapped citizens. In the Emberwood, the group follows a legend about will-o’-wisps that illuminate mate bonds.

Rosalina’s chest ignites, and her mate thread splits. It stretches not only to Keldarion but branches toward Farron, Dayton, and Ezryn as well.

Ezryn uses Spring healing magic to remove the branded scar of Lucas’s name from Rosalina’s wrist. She treats it as a fresh start.

To honor Farron’s bargain, the party descends through a thorn portal into Cryptgarden in the Below for Caspian’s birthday. Rosalina gifts him a handwritten journal titled “Things that make me smile.”

Black roses bloom on Caspian’s crown of thorns. The party then becomes a trap, as Caspian betrays them, locks Farron into his wolf form, and unleashes goblins and frost wraiths on Autumn.

The group races back to Coppershire, which is under siege. It emerges that Perth Quellos, Keldarion’s former vizier, orchestrated the frost invasion with the Below.

Princess Niamh fights but is mortally wounded by Quellos’s dark frost magic. She dies in Farron’s arms and passes the full title of High Prince of Autumn to him.

Meanwhile, Lucas, altered by the Below’s frost magic, attacks Rosalina. Refusing to be a victim again, she experiences a surge of power and sees her mother Anya in a vision.

She realizes Anya was fae, which makes Rosalina half-fae. Tapping into that heritage, she erupts with white-gold thorns and golden roses and kills Lucas.

Farron embraces both his human mind and his wolf form, and with Rosalina’s love and magic behind him, his curse breaks. In High Tower, his rose turns to solid gold.

He leads Autumn’s forces to defeat Quellos and drive the invaders back. The Autumn nobility then bows to Rosalina and names her Princess of the Autumn Realm.

With Autumn saved, the group prepares to return to Castletree as a unified family. The book closes on a cliffhanger.

Caspian is revealed to be taking orders from the Queen and a masked figure called the Nightingale. Elsewhere, Ezryn’s rogue brother Kairyn has overthrown and captured the Spring Realm.
