After she recovers, the group relocates to Augustus’s luxury villa in Lake Como because Medusa has escaped from the Underworld.
At the villa, Alexis finds a captive muse named Ceres being tortured in the dungeons. Believing Ceres has memory loss, Alexis and Helen free her and hide her from the men.
Alexis chooses Patroclus and Achilles as her mission partners instead of her husbands, and they travel to Rome on a Titan-hunting mission.
In Rome, Patroclus and Achilles reveal a plan to help Alexis break her marriage bond by bringing Augustus and Kharon to the brink of death using her blood.
They are ambushed by mutated, winged Titans. Patroclus is critically injured, and Achilles abandons Alexis to save his lover. Alexis fights alone and loses her left ear. Augustus and Kharon rescue her, and Kharon surgically sews his own left ear onto Alexis’s head.
During recovery, Alexis reveals she is partially deaf in her left ear and blind in her left eye, making Kharon’s sacrifice a tragic mismatch. Back at Lake Como, they learn their marriage bond links them through physical pain. Patroclus steals Alexis’s blood to help her escape.
Augustus and Kharon swallow her blood and self-mutilate to test her. Alexis’s hands glow with a mysterious white light, and she chooses to preserve their lives.
Zeus accelerates the Spartan Gladiator Competition by two months to trap the Chthonics. In the brutal, rigged rounds, Achilles removes his muzzle and reveals a scarred mouth before incinerating his Minotaur labors with Greek fire.
Kharon defeats three deadly Typhons but is severely burned, causing Alexis to collapse from shared pain.
On the final day, Alexis faces her twelve labors. She defeats eight Nemean lions with the help of Nyx, a toxic class seven echidna. Her blood forms a glowing staff, identifying her as the Radius Asclepii.
Fluffy Jr. molts into a part dog, part Pegasus hybrid with massive blue wings, and Alexis rides him to destroy the Rome Titans.
Zeus forces Alexis to fight Augustus and Kharon in the final round. They refuse to hurt her, and Augustus mentally commands her to impale him so she can win without being branded.
Both husbands are branded by Zeus. Alexis later records Zeus confessing that he planned the Titan attacks and tried to assassinate her as a baby. She broadcasts the recording to the coliseum. Zeus flees, and the corrupt federation collapses.
At the villa, Ceres is revealed to be Medusa in a wig.
Medusa is officially pardoned and ordered to study Fate at Rhodes Olympian University under the guard of Patroclus and Achilles.
Alexis is allowed to enroll to study mathematics. The novel ends with Alexis executing her abusive foster father in the dungeon and fully embracing her love for Augustus and Kharon.
