Ten years before the present, the events at the center of Hot Girl Murder Club begin when Scout Octavia Sage, her younger sister Georgia, and Scout’s best friend Isabel Cruz arrive in Los Angeles from New Jersey.
Scout and Isabel land minor roles on The Weird World of Wenda Word, a teen show produced by ABS Network under Easton Banks. Georgia pursues anthropology at USC and draws the attention of Easton’s son Alden.
At Easton’s Christmas party, Georgia disappears around midnight. Scout, Isabel, and law student Brooks Yardley find her body in the pool house, choked and bludgeoned.
Detective Michael Sutherland and rookie officer Carmen Ellis investigate, but the Banks family closes ranks. A deputy district attorney declines to charge Alden.
Scout and Isabel break into Alden’s bedroom, tie him down, and carve Georgia’s initials into his chest. The next day, Alden is found hanged in the pool house. His death is read as a guilt-driven suicide.
Scout’s debut album sells strongly in the aftermath. The two women form Our Ladies of the Dark, with Isabel as strategist and Scout as public face. Over ten years, the network leaks abuse footage, exposes financial fraud, and tips federal agents.
In the present, Detective Grey Holloway is assigned to the murder of Elizabeth Drake, found shot in Bel Air.
A Scout Sage lyric is written in blood on the wall, and Grey looks nearly identical to the victim.
Carmen Ellis, who worked the Georgia case, tells Grey she believes Scout is a vigilante serial killer. Ellis goes rogue, tries to break into Scout’s house, and is arrested with stolen trash and surveillance photos.
Scout’s network rescues Juliet Stone, an eighteen-year-old model being exploited by agent Danny Peterson. Juliet later moves toward Luca Clearwater, leader of the radical Green Lions.

Journalist Rosie Wright publishes a New York Times exposé naming the Hot Girl Murder Club. Scout becomes a folk hero, but Wright is soon found bludgeoned to death with another lyric at the scene.
FBI Special Agent Brooks Yardley secretly works with Scout and Isabel. They learn from Dakota Banks that Alden had an alibi on the murder night. Scout and Isabel realize they tortured an innocent boy.
They track retired investigator Rick Flores, whose photos show Easton in a secret relationship with Georgia.
The photos also show Easton, Reese Griffin, and Gabriel Knox with two bottle girls in 2016. Alice Holloway and Daisy Chapman vanished the next day. Alice is Grey’s older sister.
Daisy survived being buried alive, changed her face, and became Luca Clearwater.
Luca has spent years targeting the Pussy Posse. She murders Drake, Markham, and Rosie Wright to frame Scout and destroy Knox’s campaign. Ashley Winstead uses these revelations to tie the past and present together.
Luca also recruits Emmy Nolan, Easton’s second wife. Emmy kills Easton and confesses she struck the fatal blow to Georgia with a lamp in 2013. Juliet bombs the Knox Tower under Luca’s manipulation.
Grey arrests Juliet, and Scout signs a false confession to shield her, receiving a two-year arson sentence. Grey arrests Luca for the murders.
Knowing Knox’s wealth will protect him, Grey slips into his desert mansion, puts her gun to his temple, and prepares to execute him and bury him in Alice’s grave.
