Tess hides the diagnosis from her family. Her father Neil has heart problems, so she heads alone to her next job in the Colorado mountains.
That job is renovating the financially struggling Bear Essentials Wilderness Lodge in Pleasant Hill. Its owner, Hunter Barrett, is a large, quiet alpha wolf who resists changing anything on the property.
Hunter’s resistance has roots. His parents died in a snowstorm ten years earlier, and an omega named Chloe abandoned him, so he keeps his distance despite Tess’s scent of baked apples and cinnamon.
