Nyte tells her the truth: they are Bonded souls, two halves of one soul born to separate worlds.
Their shared existence is collapsing solar magick, shaking the realm and extinguishing the stars.
Astraea carries a second complication. She is also Bonded to Auster, High Celestial of Nova, who visits her balcony in secret and urges her to flee beyond the Celestial Veil to Althenia.
While Auster pushes, Nyte trains Astraea on the castle rooftops. She learns to channel her silver starlight and wield the Key, a weapon that shifts between staff, blade, and bow.
Through “Nightwalking,” Nyte shares his memories with her as she sleeps. Meanwhile, he investigates a secret army of 20,000 transitioned human vampires, built by his abusive father and run by his half-brother Drystan.

Astraea realizes her blood, sold to Reihan through Goldfell, kept Cassia alive for years.
Channeling her full power, Astraea blasts open the cage and frees the captive celestials while the Fae Resistance storms the Keep.
The fallen king snaps Calix’s neck, and Astraea absorbs his soul to unite him with Cassia in the stars. Auster arrives to battle the king, and Nyte carries the exhausted Astraea to safety.
A black celestial dragon egg hatches under the full moon; Astraea names the hatchling Eltanin. Drystan hatches one of his own.
The High Celestials declare Astraea, Nyte, and their allies wanted fugitives across Solanis. Nyte is ambushed in a forest and shot with fae arrows while shielding his Golden Guard, collapsing near death.
Astraea arrives on dragonback as Lightsdeath, a dark-light primordial persona granted by the God of Death.
